Beanstack Reading Challenges
Record your reading progress with Beanstack (pvaz.beanstack.com)! You can also download the app ("Beanstack Tracker") on your smartphone and easily enter the number of books or minutes that you and your family have read.
For preschool children, ages 0 - 6, we are tracking the number of books read, and for school age children, ages 5 - 13, we are tracking the number of minutes read.
Earn badges and claim prizes (while they last) when you hit these milestones:
100 minutes/10 books: Park Pass
400 minutes/40 books: Emoji Keychain
800 minutes/80 books: Animal Bouncy Balls
1200 minutes/120 books: Free Book
Claim your free book during the last week of June and the last week of July.

Join us for a virtual Summer Reading Zoomfari Kick Off! Register here on the Yavapai Events Calendar.
Summer Reading Passport
You'll pick up your Summer Reading Passport when you pick up your Summer Reading Registration Bag. Use it to track all the activities you complete and earn stamps as you go -- complete everything and you'll earn a special prize.
Plus! You'll be entered into a Summer Reading Raffle! You have to show the Children's Department staff your completed Passport to claim your prize and to fill out a Summer Reading Raffle ticket. Bring in your Summer Reading Passport by July 23 to fill out your Raffle ticket. If you need to replace your Summer Reading Passport, stop by the Children's Department.
Summer Reading Bingo
Find the Summer Reading Bingo sheet in your Summer Reading Registration Bag or download it here. Complete half your Bingo Sheet to earn a stamp in your Passport. Complete your WHOLE Bingo Sheet to earn a special prize! Bring in your Bingo sheet by July 23 to claim your stamp and collect your prize!
Summer Reading Llama Puppet
Find the Summer Reading Llama Puppet sheet in your Summer Reading Registration Bag or download it here! Color and cut out your Llama Puppet, and take them on an adventure! Snap a selfie with your Llama Puppet and tag us on Instagram @pvpllibrary or email it to us!
Safari Scavenger Hunt (July)
Join us in the Children's Department for a Safari Scavenger Hunt! We'll be running it the whole month of July, so you'll have plenty of time to stop in. Complete the Safari Scavenger Hunt to earn a prize and get a stamp in your Summer Reading Passport!
Evening Story Times
We'll be having evening Family Story Times all through the summer! Join us at 5:30 on June 15, June 29, July 15, and July 29 for some evening summer fun! Register beginning June 1 at the Yavapai Events Calendar to reserve your spot!
Cowgirl Jan (June 15-19)
Learn all about the interesting critters on the desert and how they use their tails in a
delightful, fun way. We will post the video link here once it becomes available!
Didgeridoo Down Under (June 28-July 4)
Enjoy a video recording performance by Didgeridoo Down Under! Learn about Australian culture and wildlife while listening to amazing didgeridoo music! The video link will be available from June 28 to July 4 -- we will post it once it becomes available!
K-9 Demonstration (July 15)
Learn all the ins and outs of police dogs! Join us for a live, in-person presentation on July 15 at 2pm. Reserve your spot on the Yavapai Events Calendar here!
Summer Reading Parade
Join us at 10:30am on July 24 for a fun Summer Parade to wrap up Summer Reading! Bring your bikes, wagons, and scooters and do a victory lap to celebrate a successful Summer Reading -- register here so we know you're coming!
Tie Dye Fun
Join us at the Theater on the Green at 12:00pm on July 30!
Celebrate the End of Summer Reading with a Tie Dye Celebration! You bring the tie (or shirt, or bandana, or socks or….) and we bring the dye. Come to our all ages Family Fun Tie Dye Program and have a blast tie dying your own clothes! Bring a 100% white cotton shirt, skirt, tank top, bandana, pillow case, hat or a pair of socks. Just be sure they are pre-washed and 100% cotton for the best results.
Registration is required for each participant. Tie dying will be limited to one item and one color per person.
Please contact us at 928-759-6196 if you are in need of an item to tie dye. We have a very limited supply of extra items.
We have raffles for registering for Beanstack (pvaz.beanstack.org or Beanstack
Tracker app) and for completing your Summer Reading Passport!
You will be automatically entered into the Beanstack Raffle when you register in Beanstack -- there will be separate prizes for both the Preschool (0 - 6) and School Age (5 - 13) categories.
Bring your completed your Summer Reading Passport to the Children's Department and fill out of a Summer Reading Raffle Ticket. You'll be entered into a drawing to win this basket full of art supplies!
