The Special Weapons And Tactics team mobilizes on a moment's notice to emergency situations such as potential suicides, armed and/or barricaded suspects, or hostage situations. Prior to appointment as a SWAT officer, candidates undergo extensive training and extremely rigorous tests of skills, physical conditioning, agility, and tactics.
