Dec 4, 2023: PV Councilmember April Hepperle Receives Bethany's Gait Heroes Among Us Honor

April Hepperle holding "Heroes Among Us" Spouse AwardBethany’s Gait honored Prescott Valley Councilmember April Hepperle this fall with its 2023 Heroes Among Us First Responder Spouse award. 

Bethany’s Gait is a 501(c)3 non-profit ranch in Prescott that brings military personnel, first responders and their families together with rescue horses to promote healing for both. The 6th Annual Heroes Among Us Awards honor those who have served in uniform and continue to give back through volunteering in the Quad Cities area. Awards are given in five categories - military (active, reserve or veteran), first responder (any agency; active or retired), military spouse, first responder spouse, and organization. 

Councilmember Hepperle volunteers for outreach events with MatForce and First Things First, where she is in her second year chairing the First Things First Yavapai Regional Partnership Council. For the past five years, she has volunteered with the Prescott Valley Teen Library LARP live action role playing event. She is the president-elect of the Kiwanis Club of Prescott Valley, where she serves on both the club and foundation boards. A proponent of early literacy, she founded the non-profit organization, A Storybook World, Inc., that brings interactive book-based experiences to children and families.

Councilmember Hepperle is married to PV Police Detective Matt Hepperle, who has served for 20 years in law enforcement. The couple has two children, 16 and 18.
