Sept 15, 2023: Domestic Dispute Escalates to a Shooting Incident

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 9:30 P.M. Prescott Valley Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute that escalated into a shooting at the 4100 Block of Cholla Dr. located in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Police Officers who arrived at the scene identified that one person inside the residence needed medical attention due to a bullet wound. Officers then safely extricated the subject who had been shot, through a residential window of the residence where the incident occurred.

After getting the injured person to safety, police officers verbally challenged the residence in question, and the other subject inside the residence surrendered to the police without any further incident. It was at this time the subject who surrendered was taken into custody.

No police officers were injured during the apprehension of the suspect.

The injured person who was shot was initially treated on scene, then flown to a Phoenix-area hospital for additional medical treatment.

The Prescott Valley Criminal Investigations Section has been called out and this matter is currently under investigation.
