Glassford Hill Road Enhancement Project overview

For Immediate Release - May 5, 2023
Work scheduled to begin early June on Glassford Hill Road enhancement project

Prescott valley, AZ: Drivers looking forward to a smoother ride on Glassford Hill Road will soon see progress. A complete pavement rehabilitation project will take place this Spring from State Route 69 to Panther Path.

The Glassford Hill Road enhancement project was awarded to apparent low bidder, Asphalt Paving & Supply at the May 11 Town Council meeting. Construction is expected to begin in early June, with an estimated completion of the work by mid-December.

The road work will be done in sections and will be scheduled to avoid school intersections during the start of classes. Night work is expected to minimize the impacts to the public and local businesses on this busy corridor. It is anticipated that the work will be sequenced to begin north of Florentine Road and work its way north section by section. Work will then begin in the southbound direction from Panther Path to State Route 69, before turning north to complete the remaining segment between the highway and Florentine Rd.

Traffic control during construction will be in one direction at a time. Work will take place in two of the three lanes in each direction, with traffic moving in the third lane. When the two lanes are complete, traffic will be shifted, and the final lane completed. Live traffic will be separated from active work zones with concrete barrier to ensure safety of construction personnel.

Impacts and delays are expected as crews will remove two feet of existing pavement and subgrade, so the work zones will be fully closed to traffic during each phase. Business driveways during construction will be restricted but not completely closed, and alternate entrances/exits will be accessible. Adequate signage will be in place.

Members of the project outreach team will engage with business owners throughout the corridor to learn of specific delivery requirements and address concerns. A project hotline has been established and is monitored daily. The hotline number is 928-275-2382
